Job Title: Schemes Technical Product Manager

Salary: £55,000 plus bonus and benefits

Location: UK (Remote/Hybrid – 2 days in the office, with regular travel as required)

PURPOSE OF ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Schemes Technical Product Manager to join a leading insurance organisation. This role is ideal for a commercially minded insurance professional with strong delegated authority and schemes experience, looking to play a key role in developing and managing a portfolio of successful insurance schemes.

You will take ownership of scheme products, working closely with insurers, capacity providers and internal stakeholders to enhance performance, drive innovation and support the continued growth of the schemes portfolio. Alongside the technical responsibilities, you will also lead and develop a team of Scheme Managers, ensuring high standards of performance and collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take technical ownership of a portfolio of delegated authority and scheme products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, capacity providers and internal stakeholders.
• Lead scheme tenders and re-tenders to secure competitive market solutions.
• Monitor scheme performance, ensuring commercial success and regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve products, processes and overall scheme profitability.
• Provide technical guidance and support across the wider business.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Scheme Managers, driving engagement, accountability and high performance.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and strategic direction of the schemes proposition.

DAY-TO-DAY

• Managing insurer and capacity provider relationships.
• Reviewing scheme performance and implementing improvements.
• Leading negotiations and technical discussions with insurers.
• Conducting audits and ensuring delegated authority compliance.
• Supporting internal teams with technical scheme queries.
• Coaching, mentoring and managing a team to achieve business objectives.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver commercial growth.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience within Schemes, Delegated Authority, Underwriting or a similar technical insurance role.
• Strong knowledge of scheme products and delegated authority arrangements.
• Experience managing insurer and capacity provider relationships.
• Proven experience leading tenders, negotiations and product development.
• Previous leadership or people management experience is highly desirable.
