Senior Employee Benefits Consultant
Salary: Circa £40,000 to £70,000 depending on experience
Location: North West London
Contract: Full Time
Purpose Of Role
To manage and develop a portfolio of corporate and SME clients, deliver high-quality employee benefits advice, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to business expansion through excellent client service and relationship building in a customer-focused environment.
Responsibilities
• Manage and develop your own portfolio of employee benefits clients
• Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities across group risk, healthcare, and wider benefits solutions
• Handle renewals, mid-term adjustments, and client enquiries, ensuring excellent customer outcomes
• Build trusted, long-term relationships with key HR and Finance decision-makers
• Cross-sell a full range of employee benefits and related products, including group life, income protection, private medical insurance, dental, and wellbeing services
• Work with insurers and providers to secure appropriate cover and terms
• Maintain accurate and compliant client records using CRM systems
• Contribute to overall growth, client retention, and reputation within the local business community
Day-To-Day
· A typical day involves client meetings (in-person and virtual), reviewing and preparing renewal quotations, handling scheme enquiries and adjustments, prospecting for new opportunities, collaborating with insurers and internal teams, updating client records, and following up on cross-selling leads — all while prioritising outstanding service and compliance.
Experience
• Employee benefits or group risk/healthcare insurance experience is highly desirable
• Previous experience in a similar senior consultant, client-facing, or business development role within employee benefits preferred
• Proven track record of managing client portfolios and achieving retention and growth targets
Skills
• Competent use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent literacy, written and verbal communication skills
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail
• Flexible, people-oriented approach with the ability to build and maintain relationships
• Self-motivated, ambitious, and customer-focused mindset
• Ability to work effectively in a supportive team environment
