Job Title:Senior Commercial Account Handler

Salary: £50,000 + Excellent Benefits

Location: London (Hybrid Working)

PURPOSE OF ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Commercial Account Handler to join a successful and expanding insurance brokerage. This role offers the chance to manage a portfolio of complex commercial clients while working closely with Account Executives to deliver exceptional service, drive client retention and support business growth.

As a senior member of the team, you'll act as a technical expert, providing guidance to colleagues and playing an important role in maintaining high service standards across the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take ownership of servicing a portfolio of complex commercial insurance clients.
• Manage renewals, mid-term adjustments and policy administration from start to finish.
• Work closely with Account Executives to deliver successful renewal and placement strategies.
• Negotiate with insurers to obtain competitive terms and suitable cover for clients.
• Ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant and completed within agreed timescales.
• Act as a technical referral point, supporting and mentoring less experienced team members.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, service delivery and operational efficiency.

DAY-TO-DAY

• Handle complex client enquiries and provide expert insurance advice.
• Process renewals, endorsements and policy amendments across a wide range of commercial risks.
• Liaise with insurers to negotiate terms and secure competitive quotations.
• Prepare policy documentation and maintain accurate client records.
• Support Account Executives with portfolio management and client retention initiatives.
• Assist with technical referrals and provide guidance to colleagues where required.
• Prioritise workloads while maintaining exceptional service standards in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE

• Significant experience within a Commercial Account Handler or Senior Account Handler position.
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance products and placement strategies.
• Experience handling complex, multi-class commercial risks and high-value client portfolios.
• Proven background managing renewals, MTAs and day-to-day client servicing.
• Good understanding of FCA regulations and Consumer Duty requirements.
• Previous experience using Acturis or a similar insurance broking system would be advantageous.
• Cert CII qualified or working towards professional qualifications is desirable.
