PURPOSE OF ROLE
A highly regarded, independent Bristol-based insurance broker is seeking a talented and commercially driven Account Executive to join their expanding team. This is a genuine opportunity for an ambitious insurance professional to manage and develop a portfolio of commercial clients across a broad range of business classes. You will act as a trusted adviser, delivering tailored insurance solutions whilst building long-term relationships with clients and insurers alike. RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and retain an existing book of commercial insurance business, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and renewal retention. Develop and grow the portfolio through new business activity, referrals, and cross-selling opportunities. Provide expert insurance advice to a diverse range of commercial clients, identifying the most appropriate cover for their needs. Negotiate with insurers to obtain competitive terms and deliver best-value solutions. Maintain accurate client records and ensure full regulatory compliance in line with FCA requirements.
DAY-TO-DAY
Handling day-to-day client queries and mid-term adjustments with efficiency and professionalism. Preparing renewal reports and presentations for clients. Attending client meetings and site visits as required. Liaising with insurers and underwriters to negotiate terms and resolve claims matters. Keeping up to date with market developments and emerging risk trends to add value to client conversations. Working closely with account handlers and support staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
EXPERIENCE
Proven experience as a commercial insurance Account Executive. A solid background managing a portfolio of commercial clients across a range of industry sectors. Demonstrable track record of retention and new business development. Familiarity with a broad range of commercial lines products including property, liability, motor fleet, professional indemnity, and D&O. Previous experience working within an FCA-regulated brokerage environment is essential.
SKILLS
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust at all levels. Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development. High level of organisation with the ability to manage a demanding workload and competing priorities. Proficient in Acturis or similar broking platform. Cert CII qualified as a minimum, with progression towards ACII viewed favourably.
